Arabic Letter Dal (د) Handwriting Worksheet

Dal (د) is the eighth letter of the Arabic alphabet. It is pronounced as a clear “d”, just like the “d” in “dog”.

Dal is a small angled stroke, like a bent elbow, with no dots. This worksheet practises both of its forms — isolated (د) and final (ـد), with stroke-direction arrows to guide each movement.

You will find Dal at the start of everyday words such as دب (bear) and دجاجة (hen). Writing tip: Keep Dal small and sitting on the line; children often stretch it below the line, which makes it look like Raa (ر).
