About this worksheet

Haa (ح) is the sixth letter of the Arabic alphabet. It is pronounced as a strong, breathy “h” made deep in the throat — like the sound you make when fogging up a mirror, but tighter. English has no exact match.

Haa is the same hooked body as Jeem (ج) and Khaa (خ), but with no dots at all. This worksheet practises all four positional forms — isolated (ح), initial (حـ), medial (ـحـ) and final (ـح), with stroke-direction arrows to guide each movement.

You will find Haa at the start of everyday words such as حليب (milk) and حصان (horse). Writing tip: Start at the top of the hook and pull the curve back under itself; in the initial and medial forms the tail disappears and the letter sits on the line.
