Arabic Letter Dhal (ذ) Handwriting Worksheet

Dhal (ذ) is the ninth letter of the Arabic alphabet. It is pronounced as a soft “th”, like the “th” in “this” — not the “th” in “think”.

Dhal is the angled Dal shape with one dot above. This worksheet practises both of its forms — isolated (ذ) and final (ـذ), with stroke-direction arrows to guide each movement.

You will find Dhal at the start of everyday words such as ذهب (gold) and ذيل (tail). Writing tip: Write the angle in one smooth movement, then place the dot centred above it.
