About this worksheet
Ghain (غ) is the nineteenth letter of the Arabic alphabet. It is pronounced as a gargled “gh” from the back of the throat, similar to the French “r” in “Paris”.
Ghain is the Ain shapes with one dot above. This worksheet practises all four positional forms — isolated (غ), initial (غـ), medial (ـغـ) and final (ـغ), with stroke-direction arrows to guide each movement.
You will find Ghain at the start of everyday words such as غيمة (cloud) and غابة (forest). Writing tip: Write the Ain shape completely, then place the dot above the top of the letter.
