About this worksheet

Khaa (خ) is the seventh letter of the Arabic alphabet. It is pronounced as a rough “kh” from the back of the throat, like the “ch” in the Scottish word “loch” or German “Bach”.

Khaa is the hooked Jeem body with a single dot above. This worksheet practises all four positional forms — isolated (خ), initial (خـ), medial (ـخـ) and final (ـخ), with stroke-direction arrows to guide each movement.

You will find Khaa at the start of everyday words such as خبز (bread) and خروف (sheep). Writing tip: Write the full body first, then add the dot above the top stroke — finishing the shape before the dot keeps the letter well formed.
