About this worksheet

Qaaf (ق) is the twenty-first letter of the Arabic alphabet. It is pronounced as a deep “q” made far back in the throat — further back than an English “k”.

Qaaf is a round head with two dots above and, in the isolated and final forms, a deep bowl that drops below the line. This worksheet practises all four positional forms — isolated (ق), initial (قـ), medial (ـقـ) and final (ـق), with stroke-direction arrows to guide each movement.

You will find Qaaf at the start of everyday words such as قمر (moon) and قلم (pen). Writing tip: Let the bowl drop well below the line in the isolated and final forms; that depth is what tells Qaaf apart from Faa.
