Ṭaa (ط) is the sixteenth letter of the Arabic alphabet. It is pronounced as a heavy “t” said with the back of the tongue raised — deeper than the regular Taa (ت).
Ṭaa is a flat oval loop with a tall upright stroke, and no dots. This worksheet practises all four positional forms — isolated (ط), initial (طـ), medial (ـطـ) and final (ـط), with stroke-direction arrows to guide each movement.
You will find Ṭaa at the start of everyday words such as طائرة (airplane) and طماطم (tomato). Writing tip: Draw the loop first, then add the tall upright stroke from the top down so it meets the loop.
